Why I am a patron of UCU? Because they think, organize, established ties, have a network of professors in America and Europe who cooperate with them. UCU also has a unique philosophy and approach. When talking about religion or the church, the key word is “prayer,” and when talking about business, it is “work.” UCU combine both words – prayer and work, ethics with the practical.
This university provides its students with education, training, and the ability to be effective and practical in the business world. Among the best universities in America are a few Catholic ones – Georgetown, Notre Dame, Dayton… I believe that UCU will be the first of several privately funded universities that will completely change the prospects of the Ukrainian economy.
For the successful industrialist, businessperson, or entrepreneur, the greatest need for the prospects for the next 10-30 years is not just talent, but highly trained talent that can be trusted. One hundred years ago, several rich Americans created these prospects. In Ukraine do we have a dozen or two dozen people who have the resources and understanding to construct a unique network of privately funded universities, which will benefit us not in several decades, but throughout all of the next century, as happened in America?
Why I am a patron of UCU? Because for me it’s a very clear way not only to improve the economy, but also to improve our relative status in relation to other domestic economies, other competitors in the global market.
